How to Add Shipping Methods in PhotoBiz ECommerce

If you sell products that need to be shipped or picked up, you will need to create shipping methods in your PhotoBiz ECommerce settings. Shipping methods allow you to define how customers receive their orders and how shipping costs are calculated during checkout.

You can create options such as flat rate shipping, percentage-based shipping, or free in-studio pickup. Once a shipping method is added, it automatically appears during checkout for customers purchasing physical products.

This guide walks you through how to add and configure a shipping method in your PhotoBiz account.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.

This opens the ECommerce control panel where you manage products, payments, and shipping settings.

STEP TWO

At the top of the ECommerce control panel, click the PAYMENT tab.

From the dropdown menu, select SHIPPING to open your shipping configuration settings.

STEP THREE

Click the NEW SHIPPING METHOD button.

This opens the shipping setup panel where you can create and customize your shipping option.

STEP FOUR

Configure Your Shipping Method

In the shipping setup panel, enter the details for the shipping option you want to offer your customers.

Name
Enter the name of the shipping method. This name will be displayed to customers during checkout.
Examples include USPS Shipping, Flat Rate Shipping, or Free Studio Pickup.

Description (Optional)
Add additional information about the shipping method. This can include delivery estimates, pickup instructions, or special details your customers should know.

Price Type
Choose how the shipping cost will be calculated.

Flat Rate allows you to set a fixed shipping amount for all orders.
Percentage allows you to charge a percentage of the order total and optionally set a minimum shipping charge.

Additional Shipping Charges
Products in your store can include additional per-item shipping charges. During shipping setup, you can choose whether those product-level charges should be included or excluded when this shipping method is used.

Multiple Shipping Methods
You can create multiple shipping methods so customers can choose their preferred option during checkout. For example, you might offer standard shipping, expedited shipping, and free in-studio pickup.

Example: Free In-Studio Pickup

Many photographers offer a local pickup option for prints, albums, or other products.

To create this option, configure the shipping method with the following settings:

  • Name: Free Pickup in Studio

  • Description: Pick up your order at our studio at no charge. We’ll contact you when your order is ready.

  • Price: Flat Rate set to $0

  • Exclude Additional Shipping Charges: Yes

Once saved, this option will appear at checkout and allow customers to select free pickup instead of paying for shipping.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

Shipping methods only appear during checkout for products that require shipping.

If you sell digital downloads or services that do not require delivery, shipping methods will not be used during checkout.

You can create multiple shipping methods to give customers flexibility. For example:

  • Standard Shipping

  • Expedited Shipping

  • Free Studio Pickup

You can edit or remove shipping methods at any time from the Shipping settings area.

Troubleshooting

Shipping Method Does Not Appear at Checkout

If your shipping method does not appear during checkout, check the following:

  • The product requires shipping
    Shipping methods only appear for products that need to be delivered or picked up. If the product is configured as a digital item or does not require shipping, customers will not see shipping options during checkout.

  • The shipping method has been saved
    After creating or editing a shipping method, make sure you click Save so the changes are applied.

  • The product is available in the store
    If the product is hidden, unpublished, or removed from the store, customers may not reach the checkout stage where shipping is calculated.

Additional Shipping Charges Are Higher Than Expected

Some products may include additional per-product shipping charges. These charges can increase the final shipping total at checkout.

Review the Additional Shipping Charges setting in your shipping method to determine whether product-level shipping fees should be included or excluded.

You can also check individual product settings in your Product Setup to see if additional shipping charges have been added.

Free Pickup Still Shows a Shipping Cost

If your free pickup option still shows a shipping charge, check the following settings:

  • Confirm the Price is set to Flat Rate with a value of $0.

  • Make sure Exclude Additional Shipping Charges is enabled so any product-level shipping fees are not added to the pickup option.

After updating the settings, click Save to apply the changes.
