How to Change the Layout of the Video Block

The Video Block in PhotoBiz allows you to showcase your video content in a clean, professional, and customizable way. You can use it to display embedded videos from YouTube or Vimeo, or upload videos directly to your PhotoBiz account.

With multiple layout styles available, you can easily adjust the look and presentation of your video without rebuilding the block or re-entering your content. This makes it simple to refresh your website’s design and better match your overall style.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on WEBSITE from the left-hand menu.

STEP TWO

Select the page that contains the Video Block you want to update.

STEP THREE

Locate the Video Block on the page. You can change the layout in one of two ways:

Option One: One-Click Layout Change
In the upper right corner of the block, you'll see the current layout name with left and right arrows. Click the arrows to scroll through available layouts and preview them in real time.
The layout updates automatically—no need to click save.

Option Two: Change Layout in the Right Side Panel
Click the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the block. Then select CHANGE LAYOUT from the menu that appears.

STEP FOUR

If using Option Two, layout choices will appear in the right-hand panel. Browse the available options and click the SAVE button under the layout you want to apply.

Your changes will appear automatically in the builder preview. To see how the new layout looks on your live site, click VIEW SITE at the top of the builder.

Video Block Layout Options

You can choose from the following Video Block layouts. Here's a quick overview of what each one does:

Full Screen: Displays your video across the entire browser width and height. Slight cropping may occur to fill the full screen.

Banner: Displays your video as a fixed-height banner that stretches across the page.

Standard: Shows the video in its original dimensions with a standard player and play button. No cropping is applied.

No Crop Banner: Displays the full video without cropping while maintaining a banner-style layout.

Video Left: Places the video on the left side with text content on the right.

Video Right: Places the video on the right side with text content on the left.

Video Large Left: Shows a larger video on the left side with smaller text or image content on the right.

Video Large Right: Shows a larger video on the right side with smaller text or image content on the left.

Text Overlay Center Left: Places your video in the background with centered text overlay aligned to the left side.

Text Overlay Center Right: Places your video in the background with centered text overlay aligned to the right side.

Video Overlay Left: Displays the video on the left with an overlay text box or image on top of it.

Video Overlay Right: Displays the video on the right with an overlay text box or image on top of it.

Overlay Split Left: Splits the block visually, with the video and overlay content aligned to the left side.

Overlay Split Right: Splits the block visually, with the video and overlay content aligned to the right side.

Overlay Box Left: Displays the video with a boxed overlay (text or image) positioned on the left.

Overlay Box Right: Displays the video with a boxed overlay (text or image) positioned on the right.

Videos uploaded directly to PhotoBiz will auto-play and loop in the following layouts:

• Full Screen
• Banner
• No Crop Banner
• Text Overlay Center Left
• Text Overlay Center Right
• Video Overlay Left
• Video Overlay Right
• Overlay Split Left
• Overlay Split Right
• Overlay Box Left
• Overlay Box Right

These layouts are perfect for dynamic headers and background effects that play automatically to enhance your site’s visual impact.

The Standard layout allows manual, non-looping playback, making it ideal for videos that include dialogue or user interaction.

FINAL STEP

After selecting your preferred layout, preview your site to ensure the video looks and functions as expected. You can switch layouts anytime without re-uploading or editing your video content.

Suggestions on When to Use Each Layout

Here are some recommendations to help you choose the best layout for your content:

Full Screen – Great for homepage hero videos or full-width introductions. Best used for short clips with minimal text.

Banner / No Crop Banner – Ideal for creating dynamic headers or section dividers that capture attention without taking up the entire screen.

Standard – Perfect for showcasing video content that includes audio or narration, such as tutorials or interviews.

Video Left / Video Right – Best for storytelling sections where video complements text, such as service highlights or about pages.

Video Large Left / Video Large Right – Excellent for promotional or feature videos that should be the main focus, with supporting text alongside.

Text Overlay Center Left / Right – Great for minimal designs with video backgrounds and text headlines. Commonly used for “hero” sections.

Video Overlay Left / Right – Best for creative layouts that combine video and imagery or calls-to-action.

Overlay Split Left / Right – Works well for product showcases, side-by-side comparisons, or highlighting two types of content.
