How to Use Title Blocks in PhotoBiz

Title Blocks allow you to clearly label sections of your website and create visual separation between areas of content. They are commonly used for page headings, section titles, and callout areas. This article explains how to add and edit Title Blocks, choose a layout, customize their appearance, and follow best practices for SEO and page structure.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Add a Title Block to your page.

Open the block menu in the Website Builder.

Click the Title Block icon. This is the first option in the block menu.

You can either click the icon to add the block to the bottom of the page, or click and drag the icon to place it in a specific location on the page. As you drag the block, a teal placement bar will appear to show where the block will be added.

After the block is added, you can reposition it by clicking and dragging the block handle. You can remove the block at any time using the delete option in the block controls.

Select A Layout

Browse the available predesigned Title Block layouts.

Click SELECT on the layout you want to use.

Blank layouts use your website’s global design settings. Predesigned layouts apply custom styling that matches the selected layout.

Edit Your Title Block Text

Click inside the Title Block to open the editor on the right-hand side.

You can click on an existing Title Block at any time to edit it. When selected, the editor will open on the right-hand side, allowing you to update the text and styling without re-adding the block.

Under the Title tab, enter your headline or title.

Text entered in a Title Block is automatically styled as an H1 heading for SEO and page structure.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your text.

Style Your Title Block

You can customize how your Title Block looks with options for alignment, spacing, colors, background images, and fonts.

Text Alignment & Spacing

These settings override your global site design settings found under the DESIGN tab.

You can adjust text alignment, space below the block, and space inside the block.

If a setting has been customized, it will display a CUSTOMIZED label. Click the X icon to reset the setting back to the default.

Color Settings

You can customize Title Block colors independently from your global site color scheme.

You can change the title text color and the background color.

Click the color selector or enter a HEX value to apply a custom color.

Click SAVE CHANGES after making updates.

Background Image

You can add a background image to a Title Block instead of using a solid background color.

Upload a custom image or choose one from the Background Library.

Choose how the image displays using options such as Tile, Top Left, Centered, or Cover.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply the background image.

Font Customization

Under the Font tab, you can customize the font style, font size, letter spacing, and line height.

Click SAVE CHANGES when finished.

Additional Notes

All Title Blocks automatically apply an H1 tag. For SEO best practices, it is recommended to use only one H1 per page.

If you need additional headings on the same page, use a Text Editor Block and apply H2 or H3 styling instead of adding multiple Title Blocks.

Using Title Blocks with DuoBuild

Title Blocks support DuoBuild, which allows them to be placed side by side with other DuoBuild-compatible blocks.

This is useful for layouts such as a heading next to supporting text, images, or buttons. Title Blocks used within DuoBuild still apply H1 styling, so only one Title Block should be used as the primary H1 on a page.

Title Block Menu Options

You can click the pencil icon on the top-right corner of a Title Block to open the block menu. This menu includes additional options to help you manage and organize your page.

Copy
Creates a duplicate of the Title Block, including its text and styling. This is useful for reusing consistent headings across your page.

Move
Allows you to move the Title Block to the top or bottom of the current page, or move it to a different page within the Website Builder.

Rename
Lets you rename the block for easier identification when working on pages with multiple blocks.

Advanced
Opens the full styling settings for the Title Block. This gives you access to all available design options in one place, including spacing, colors, fonts, and other visual settings.

Delete
Removes the Title Block from the page.

Troubleshooting / FAQs

Why does my Title Block look different from the rest of my site?
This usually happens when a predesigned layout is selected or when custom styling options have been applied. Check for settings marked as CUSTOMIZED and click the X icon to reset them to your global site styles.

Why did my heading size or spacing change?
Changes to font size, spacing, or layout settings within the Title Block override your global design settings. Resetting the customized options will restore the default appearance.
